Assistance for disadvantaged

At LMA Islamic Funeral Services, we believe that financial constraints shouldn't be a barrier to providing a proper Islamic funeral for a loved one. To apply for financial assistance through LMA Islamic Funeral Services, you are welcome to contact our support team. We have streamlined the application process to ensure ease of access and maintain confidentiality. And we will provide you with support throughout the application process.

Overseas Transportation

We understand the emotional toll that the overseas transportation of a loved one's body can have on families. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate support, ensuring that the body is handled with dignity, respect and care throughout the entire process. We are here to answer your questions and address your concerns.

Steps to Repatriation

Please contact the LMA Funeral Parlour on 0411 522 739 and explain the situation to our funeral director.

1.
A next of kin will need to be designated. This will be ONE family member that will be the central contact for all arrangements and responsibilities. The repatriation process can be complex and having multiple people involved will likely cause issues in organising

Next of kin will need to request a Medical Cause of death, be it from the coroner, hospital, or Doctor. This document allows the service to collect the deceased from their place of death. If we do not have a cause of death, we cannot retrieve the deceased
3.
Once the MCOD is issued, Paul Lahood funeral services will pick up the deceased and transport them to the embalming facility as required for the flight
4.
Paul Lahood Funeral Service will arrange all certifications required for the repatriation, each country has different regulations, but these generally include:
Non-infectious letterDeath CertificatePreservation CertificateTransit Permit

NOK will be required to provide the deceased passport to the LMA Funeral Office. It does not matter if the passport is expired.
6.
 The flight for the deceased will be booked and arrangements for the Ghusul (wash)and Janaza will be made with the next of kin.
7.
The deceased will then be transported from the embalming facility to LMA funeralParlour for Ghusul and Janaza.
8.
Once complete, the deceased will be transported to the Airport for repatriation. Please note, separate arrangements will need to be made in the destination country for pick up of the deceased from the airport/ burial
